Mayor (speaker 2) introduced the item and said the request came from the finance department and specifically from Chief Brooks. "The grant is specifically to pay for SOR officers," the mayor said. A council member moved to approve the application and contract, another council member seconded, and the council approved the motion on a voice vote.
No additional allocation or matching funds were described during the meeting; the motion authorized submission of the application and execution of the contract if awarded. The item will proceed through any required administrative review if the grant application is accepted.
