0‑Waste subcommittee plans youth contest for LED sign and readies restaurant compost pilot

For grant work, the subcommittee intends to reapply for the Boulder County Circular Economy Grant and proposed a restaurant pilot that would provide collection bins and scales and track weights; participating businesses could receive a certificate or a listing on the town website if procurement rules permit. "We could purchase scales with the money from the grant and give them that with the bin," Cass said.
Next steps include collecting sample graphics (EcoCycle/Recycle Colorado materials were suggested), reaching out to local schools and WildBear programs for contest participation, and bringing a more detailed grant proposal to SAB next month.
