Committee flags missing Connex protocols and inventory gaps, including absent batteries

The Chair said, "To me, one of the biggest things we have failed on in the Connexes is our protocols. We don't have any written documentation of what to do when you open the door." Several members noted they discovered missing or expired items; one member said finding a unit with no batteries was "surprising." The group proposed making inventory checks quarterly and writing up concrete instructions for opening and operating each Connex.
On maintenance, a committee member reported he spoke with an inspector (Fulton) who "is gonna change the batteries out when he does inspections." The Chair and members agreed rechargeable battery bases and a schedule for swapping batteries should be high priorities and that someone needs to be assigned to the inventory schedule so Connexes can be relied on in an event.
