Connex delivery in Yachats cemetery stalls over 100‑foot power run; solar considered

The committee said it will meet with the utility engineer to explore other options and said it may pursue solar power to avoid that cost.
Committee members said the Connex itself is being obtained at a reduced price and that the committee will prioritize spending on supplies over infrastructure if possible. "We can deal with lights; primarily, I would [need] the power for the dehumidifier to keep the moisture out of everything," the Chair said, describing how dehumidification rather than interior lighting is the immediate operational need. Members noted the city budget could include supply or service funding in the 2026–27 cycle and that volunteers and local contacts may help bridge short-term gaps.
