Council approves $15,000 amendment to Chamber agreement for July 4 parade security

Parks Director Lina Hicks explained the amendment would allocate the $15,000 that council previously authorized: $8,500 to purchase/lease barriers for the parade route, $2,500 to cover overtime for six additional city staff to help man the route, and $4,000 to the Chamber for security and event staffing. Hicks said the funds had already been authorized by the council at an earlier meeting and that this resolution would simply specify how the money would be spent.
A motion to approve Resolution 1881 passed by voice vote with no objections during the June 22 meeting.
