Citizens oversight committee reports clean review of bond spending; flags membership timing

Steve Isant, chairman of the Hermosa Beach citizens oversight committee, presented the committee’s eighth annual report and told the board the body meets quarterly to review invoices, vendor lists and expenditures tied to Measure S and other bond projects. He complimented district staff and the board for restoring credibility after earlier financial concerns and said the committee found the financial reporting in order.
"We meet four times a year. We have a list of all the invoices that have been spent, the dollar the invoices, the companies, the dollar amounts, what they were for," Isant said, and congratulated staff on their oversight practices. He also said the committee expects upcoming representative changes and asked staff to bring discussion about reconstituting the committee to a future meeting.
Board members thanked the oversight committee and noted staff will follow up on committee terms and potential reappointments.
