Board asks staff to investigate Doherty branch off Hummel for targeted dredging
Summary
A resident requested dredging of the Doherty (Dorney) branch off Hummel; the board voted to have county staff inspect the reach and identify high spots or log jams that could be relieved without full-channel dredging.

A resident raising the Hummel Bridge maintenance request asked the board to investigate the Dorty/Doherty branch that runs off Hummel and to consider targeted dredging to relieve standing water near 650 North. "There's very few trees or brush on it ... I'm just asking for permit permission, I guess, to have the Dorney branch addressed," the resident said.
The board made a motion for Raymond (county staff) to inspect the branch and identify what is needed — for example, removing high spots or log jams rather than dredging the entire length — and to report back. Board members highlighted uncertainty about access, tile locations and potential costs and asked staff to prioritize investigation rather than committing to full dredging immediately.
