Nancy Bryant, the election deputy, reviewed the required biannual equipment inventory and said the office documented 105 voting machines and 110 ballot-marking devices. "So we have 105 voting machines, and we have 110 bb pads," Bryant said while describing the inventory and required VPAT documentation.
Bryant told the board that 2–3 machines arrived from delivery with a broken 'leg' (the rubber foot on the carrying case) and that several VVPATs (voter-verified paper audit trails) had been jammed and could not be easily unjammed. She said MicroVote typically runs summer rounds to inspect machines and that she would contact the vendor if problems are not resolved. The inventory form was signed and will be emailed to the state election division as required.
Chair Greg Persinger said signatures would serve in lieu of a formal vote for the inventory approval and directed staff to forward the signed forms to the state.
