HOA president urges clearer communication after county crews remove trees near Lomax work

Sarah Castello, president of the Heritage Village HOA, addressed the board during the Lomax discussion to raise concerns about tree removal and safety during recent mowing and clearing operations. "We were told one time ... mowing and spraying was gonna happen. Again, nothing mentioned about trees," she said, adding that residents were caught off guard when county crews removed tree after tree and that debris traveled onto private property. "We just ask that more communication about exactly what's going to happen when someone comes out and does work," Castello said.
Castello thanked staff who walked the area with neighborhood representatives and acknowledged that many residents agree work is needed; she asked only for clearer notification and safer handling of debris so homeowners are not surprised and HOA volunteers are not repeatedly called to manage fallout from operations. The board responded that staff would look into the concerns and attempt to improve communication about the timing and scope of tree removal and dredging operations.
