Grant County Election Board approves Oak Hill school public question for November ballot

Greg Persinger, chairman of the Grant County Election Board, said the board approved Oak Hill United School Corporation’s certified resolution to place a public-question referendum on the fall ballot. "The proposed language for the public question is approved and we will direct our election deputy to transmit that to the appropriate state agencies," Persinger said.
Pam Harris moved to approve the ballot language and Tom Root seconded; the motion carried on a voice vote. Persinger explained the referendum would ask voters to approve an increase in levies for specified purposes for a period not to exceed eight years and said copies of the proposed language will be available for public review prior to the election.
Nancy Bryant, the election deputy, said she would confirm the school’s entry in the state system (SBRS) so the question appears on the ballot. The board’s action completes local certification; the materials will be sent to the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance and the state election division for their processing.
