Amelia Villegas, speaking as a board member of the Friends, described how the group's dues and occasional grants are used to buy books, DVDs, subscriptions and furniture for the branch and encouraged community membership. She said Chief Cash will speak at the open house on the importance of reading and literacy. The group will offer refreshments and door prizes and invited families to attend.
