Councilors raised a separate concern about recent activity at the post office, where a person experiencing homelessness had been sleeping on a bench; according to the police report the post office temporarily restricted access and asked patrons to use business hours only. "One of the homeless, he goes by the name of Kentucky, started sleeping in the post office and taking the shoes off and everything," a police representative said when describing the incident and subsequent precautions. Councilors said the temporary measures were frustrating for patrons but understood the safety response.
