EDC reviews FY26–27 survey, calls for joint meeting with Selectboard and staff

Economic and Community Development Director Stephen Houdlette reviewed results of a previously distributed survey that asked committee members which roles the EDC should emphasize, which business districts need attention, what types of economic development are most needed, and which policies make sense for each area. The survey review was presented as the groundwork for drafting the FY26–27 EDC work plan.
Chair Steve Sawyer said the committee sees an apparent lack of support or clarity about the EDC’s role and emphasized the need to know the Selectboard’s and town staff’s direction before finalizing priorities. Sawyer proposed a joint session including the Town Manager, EDC, EVD staff and the Selectboard; Stephen Houdlette said he would try to set up that meeting.
