The board approved multiple event and liquor licensure requests that allow summer and fall community programming across Great Barrington.
Moe Guthrie described the Guthrie Centerconcert (Slambovian Circus of Dreams) and requested a temporary beer-and-wine permit; the board approved the one-day license. The Housatonic Improvement Committee requested temporary entertainment permits, a fee waiver and temporary road closures for a harvest festival, a community dinner (long-table event) and Halloween activities; Sarah Parker said the events will include local businesses, a pie contest and cider-press demonstrations and that setup/breakdown times require road closure from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. The board also approved the Community Development Corporation of Southern Berkshires' community party near the Triplex Cinema, Mason Library poetry-night beer-and-wine permits, and Fairview Hospital's Monster Dash 5K fundraiser (proceeds to Berkshire Bounty).
All event motions included standard conditions and several waivers of fees; board members noted logistics such as inclement-weather sites and coordination with DPW for road closures and safety.
