Board members moved and seconded the superintendent's recommendations one item at a time and recorded unanimous or near‑unanimous approvals. For example, the motion supporting the Jonesboro High School assistant-principal recommendation was moved and seconded and passed quickly; the board likewise approved the recommendation for executive director of elementary instruction. The personnel report covered a number of hires intended to place administrators and instructional leaders before the Aug. 3 opening day for schools. The board asked appointees to remain after the meeting so staff could photograph the newly approved personnel.
