Council approves Climate Smart and LWRP applications to pursue state funding

Council also approved moving forward with a revised Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) submission so the city can qualify for state funding that becomes available once an LWRP is on file. The chair said the last LWRP was completed in 2011 and that the city's prior draft did not reach state approval; councilmembers noted that once approved the city could apply for additional monies tied to having an LWRP on file.
Both resolutions passed by roll call. Councilmembers asked staff to continue work on the LWRP revisions and to circulate materials for further review.
