The board used its announcements section to recognize financial contributions and district programs. President Castro read acknowledgements for several donors, including a $120,000 donation from Dean Health Plan by Medica to Muir Elementary, a $70,661 gift from the Madison Rotary Foundation to MSCR Goodman Rotary programming, and other philanthropic support noted for school libraries and after-school programming.
Superintendent Dr. Gothard expanded on summer CTE opportunities and Freedom Schools programming; he reported 284 students participated in 21 summer camps offering skills in culinary arts, coding, robotics, construction and other career-technical subjects. The board thanked community and industry partners and said staff will present more detail about summer programming at the Instruction Work Group meeting next week.
