Librarian outlines fall programs and $2,000 children's book grant

Kimberly, the library's librarian, summarized summer successes and a slate of fall programs she said are designed to draw families and teens back into the building. "We had a fabulous summer," Kimberly said, and she described plans for a weekly teen zine/book group led by Tanya Humphreys, a family read‑aloud, a cookbook club and the return of bedtime story hours.
Kimberly also reported a small grant: "And $2,000 worth of children's books will be here in October," and noted the board must select titles by the end of September. She urged the board to use photos of current programming in promotional materials to communicate "energy, not necessarily building," and the group discussed logistics for selecting books and coordinating programming with the school.
