Mayor Davis asks commission to consider $1.78 million inmate-healthcare contract

Mayor Davis asked the Bradley County Commission to place a resolution on next week's agenda to retain the current vendor for inmate health care at a total contract amount of $1,780,000. "We recently went through the process of bidding the health care, for the, justice center for the inmates," Mayor Davis said, adding that the resolution would "basically say[] that for $1,780,000, we will stay with the current vendor on that."

Chair then assigned the administrative step of putting the item on the agenda for next week. The mayor characterized the contract as "very expensive" and among "one of the biggest contracts we have," signaling it is a major line item for the commission to review.
