Summary
Staff said they received a tentative GDOT allocation of $200,000 toward an Airport Layout Plan (ALP) update and expect the full ALP project to be largely federally funded (estimated ~95% federal share). Staff told the board they received a tentative allocation letter from GDOT for $200,000 to support an Airport Layout Plan (ALP) update. The presenter told members that although $200,000 would start the process, the full ALP and related design work could reach estimates in the $500,000–$600,000 range and likely become a federal project with roughly 95% federal funding and 2.5% state and local matches.
Staff said they will issue an RFQ for engineering services and do preliminary fieldwork and topographic surveys for the apron project, with a goal of completing design by year end and moving to bid in early next year to align construction with the football season. Board members asked about matching funds and schedule; staff said they will track additional federal/state sources and report back when firm numbers are available.
