Councilmember Mackleit asked the council to resume discussion of a nuisance-building ordinance; Clerk Kramlich had circulated sample ordinances from Medical Lake for council consideration. Public Works staff Hammer recommended the council prepare specific questions for staff, and said he would ask City Attorney Hannah Kimball to attend a future meeting to help guide ordinance drafting and next steps.
Separately, staff reported that, following citizen nuisance complaints, the front office sent Code Enforcement letters regarding weeds, garbage and tall grass. The council did not adopt a new ordinance at this meeting but directed staff to prepare information and legal guidance for a future discussion.
