Council delays budget workshops slightly as staff engages former CFO for historical context

Path said the budget team is working to provide council a draft budget book mid‑next week so members will have adequate time to review.
The manager also said the city had engaged former Chief Financial Officer Laura Storrs under a professional services agreement to provide historical knowledge and speed the scrub of account codes and cash‑flow assumptions. Staff said the arrangement is advisory and read‑only; the agreement is hourly and capped so that expenditures above $50,000 would return to council for approval. Councilmembers pressed staff for specifics about what was incomplete in the draft budget; deputy managers responded that reconciling recent audit numbers and historical allocations required extra review that Storrs can expedite.
