The presentation also identified a persistent concern: students who previously reclassified out of English‑learner status (RFEP) perform well in elementary school but "by the time they're taking the CASP in high school, they are underperforming their peers significantly," and the site is designing targeted language supports in math, ELA and science.
To address D/F rates and readiness for A–G eligibility, staff said they reintroduced family meetings and DNF letters to students and families, and planned phased interventions across grades. The principal noted graduation rates remain high (reported at 98.5 percent), but stressed that increasing A–G completion and improving math outcomes are priorities to expand college and career options. Trustees asked about next‑year goals and how campus programs (AVID, PLCs, intervention labs) would be used to raise A–G completion and reduce D/F rates.
