Price Barbershop project moves forward after structural issue flagged

The board received an update on the Price Barbershop rehabilitation project from Economic Development Director Nicole Dozier.
Dozier said the architectural and structural engineering contract for the Price Barbershop has been executed and that a pre‑construction site walk took place. She reported "there were some structural concerns that were identified with an existing separation wall due to a significant vertical cracking at the Price Barbershop," and said the design team and architect are evaluating recommendations for stabilization before demolition begins. Staff will continue coordination on outstanding technical items and monitor progress against the project schedule.
Board members thanked staff and the chair said she would stay engaged on project details until the executive director position is filled.
