GICC arena, golf course report shows revenue gains; parking lot repaving underway

Janice Varner, executive director, gave a financial and operations update for the GICC arena and golf course.
Varner said the operating revenue for the convention center in June was 286,241 and year‑to‑date operating revenue was 17,000,944. She reported arena monthly revenue of 230,000 and year-to-date revenue of 8,032,000; arena monthly expense was $277,000 with year-to-date expense $9,042,000. Varner said the golf course brought in 46,956 for the month and 816,259 year to date, with golf course year-to-date expenses of 752,314 (97% of budget). She also said parking revenue for June was 85,000.
Varner told the board the parking lot repaving is in progress and would be completed by the end of next week, noting this was the first repaving in 24 years. She also summarized recent bookings and events at the convention center and arena. Board members thanked Varner for the report.
