Maupin City Manager Nick Smith told the City Council on Jan. 28 that the city "has been awarded a million-dollar grant for water system improvements," a notice received from Senator Jeff Merkley’s office. Smith said the award has been approved and is "awaiting final presidential signature" and staff expects to implement the project in summer 2026.
Smith asked council to schedule a follow-up meeting to prioritize projects from the city's water master plan so staff can align the forthcoming grant funding with immediate needs.
