District certifies $194.7 million facility-needs survey for state submission

Hoyle said the report is the five-year data collection required by statute and recommended the board authorize VASCA to submit the survey to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. "What it says for Catawba County Schools is that we have construction needs of a $111,000,000," he said. The board voted to certify the survey for submission; Hoyle noted these figures reflect condition assessments and multiyear capital planning.
Board members commented on the magnitude of the total need and thanked operations staff and consultants for the work; the motion to approve the certification passed unanimously with no roll-call recorded.
