County amends USA BMX contract, shifts incentive metric to $1 million in direct sales for Pro Nationals

The commission unanimously approved an amendment to the county's contract with USA BMX for the 2026 Pro Nationals event, changing the incentive eligibility measure. Mr. Anderson explained the event is scheduled Aug. 7–9 in Syracuse and that the amendment modifies the original hotel-room-night requirement to a direct-sales threshold. "This event is coming up August 7 through the 9th, in Syracuse," he said, and the amendment would require approximately $1,000,000 in direct business sales to Davis County for the event to qualify for a $10,000 incentive payment.
Commissioners moved and seconded the amendment and approved it by unanimous voice vote. The change shifts the county's incentive calculation from a lodging metric to a direct economic sales target, which county staff said better captures local business impacts from the event.
