Commission sets FY27 proposed millage rates; first TRIM hearing scheduled for Sept. 15

Seminole County staff presented the county's Truth in Millage (TRIM) proposal for fiscal year 2027 and the board approved the proposed millage rates and hearing schedule.
Timothy Jeks of the Office of Management and Budget told the commissioners, "The proposed millage rates are 5.3751 mills for the general fund, 2.7649 mills for the fire district, and 0.1107 mills for the road district." He explained those proposed rates are the same as the current FY26 rates and will be included in the notices mailed to property owners; the board will hold two public hearings in September with a tentative first hearing on Sept. 15 at 5:30 p.m.
Commissioners moved and unanimously approved setting the proposed millage as the maximum to be published in TRIM notices and confirmed the public hearing dates.
