Wood Village budget includes full rebuild of 236 corridor and $10,000 for mobile speed signs
Summary
Staff told the committee the 236 project will be a full rebuild (not just crack-and-seal) and the city budgeted roughly $10,000 to buy two mobile speed-display signs to deter speeding on Wood Village Boulevard and other streets.

Public-works staff told the committee that the planned 236 roadway project will be a full tear-out and rebuild rather than a routine crack-and-slurry seal; design work was carried over into the next fiscal year. The committee also reviewed a proposal for mobile speed-display signs and staff stated the budget includes about $10,000 to procure multiple units (two were discussed).
A committee member praised the addition of speed signs as a needed traffic-calming tool: “I applaud the addition to those in this budget,” the member said. Staff noted the signs are intended to be movable and used at problem locations, and the committee approved adding several such traffic-calming and safety items in the capital plan and supported including the $10,000 discretionary item later adopted as part of the budget recommendation to council.
