Wetland park and parks projects move forward with Metro and CDBG grants in proposed budget

Agency official (parks/public works) said the wetland park has attracted “a lot of Metro grants” and cited a figure of about $740,000 in grant assistance; the committee heard that the City will also use a $79,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and some matching funds to complete an ADA pathway and ball-field restoration.
Staff also briefed the committee on park operations and smaller capital needs: expansion of the community garden from 12 to 20 plots (management by Outgrowing Hunger), playground-surface repairs, and operations-facility AC/server replacements as necessary capital carryovers. The committee requested clarification on some slide/document inconsistencies and was told staff will reconcile those figures before sending materials to council.
