Paulding County fleet report: 703 vehicles and a small fleet-building change order

Tanya Stein, the fleet-management director, reported this fiscal year the county's fleet totals 703 vehicles and 451 pieces of equipment, and that the department completed 3,844 work orders in the prior fiscal year. She noted inventory additions (72 vehicles and 23 pieces of equipment), hires of two master technicians, fuel consumption of about 426,105 gallons at the county fueling station, and the pending move to the new compressed air and lube facility with equipment installation and training to follow.
The chair later introduced a change order for the new fleet building that would cost $44,445.88, covering a sewer drop, parking-lot remediation, additional framing, insulation and relocation of the fire-alarm panel; staff and the contractor noted that in-house work reduced some change-order costs by roughly $23,000 and characterized the change orders as about 1% of the total project cost.
