City Administrator Matt Hammer said the concrete deck pour is scheduled for July 21 and requires a 28-day cure before finishing work and staff-led landscaping.
Hammer described the remaining work sequence: conduit for lights and plumbing will be installed, a liner will be placed after those systems are in, then public works crews will complete landscaping and finish tasks. Mayor Jim Retzer reiterated a pledge that the pool would not remain closed for two years, a commitment he said has guided scheduling decisions.
Council then voted (motion by Councilmember Huntwork, seconded by Councilmember Sevedge) to direct City Clerk Lynda Kramlich to draft a public letter explaining the status and expected timeline; the letter will be published after council approval. Council voted unanimously to approve the letter direction.
The council also discussed recruiting lifeguards from neighboring pools if the project finishes in time to staff limited weekend openings. Details on staffing arrangements and final opening dates will be released in the clerk’s letter after the council reviews the draft.
