Town moves to fund PFAS testing at former septage fields; one monitoring well was dry

The Selectboard authorized contracting a consultant to prepare the monitoring plan and initial sampling after reviewing multiple proposals from qualified environmental firms.
Town Administrator Shane O’Keefe reported that sampling conducted earlier in the year found elevated concentrations in an on‑site monitoring well and that ‘‘one of the sampling wells was dry, which may save the Town money’’ when retesting and planning further sampling. The board authorized staff to secure a monitoring plan and to follow state requirements for testing and reporting as the regulatory process continues.
