Council adopts updates to municipal motor‑vehicle ordinance to reflect new streets and traffic patterns

After closing the public hearing on amendments to Chapter 8, the council moved to adopt the changes. Lieutenant Paul provided an overview of the edits, saying they primarily add streets that were omitted from the existing ordinance and accommodate traffic pattern changes resulting from new development: “The edits in here are for the Crescent Connector... and the traffic pattern change coming out of GlobalFoundries,” he said.
No members of the public objected to the update during the hearing and councilors indicated they had no proposed amendments. The council voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously. The adopted changes update the municipal code to include newly constructed streets and correct earlier omissions; staff said the amendments will be folded into the municipal code and enforced under existing traffic rules.
