The job‑description and classification committee presented four job descriptions for council approval on July 28: updates to the executive director and office‑manager descriptions and two new positions (an accounting/finance administrator and a project & compliance leader). Staff explained the project & compliance leader role is meant to absorb grant compliance duties countywide and to provide dedicated project‑management capacity for initiatives such as the OneTouch timecard rollout and other IT modernization projects. Auditor/finance representatives said changing the finance administrator title to accounting administrator better reflects the broader accounting workload, including payroll and accounts payable/receivable.
Committee and staff discussed moving two positions to 40‑hour, exempt status so projects such as payroll and the forthcoming time‑card implementation are not disrupted by overtime limitations. Members asked for minimum educational requirements to be updated (associates or bachelor’s in accounting) on some job descriptions and requested final review of language before recruitment.
The council approved the job descriptions as presented; no funding or line‑item appropriations were created at this meeting.
