Council says Rogue River segment added to regional greenway planning

Mayor Pam VanArsdale told councilors that the Middle Rogue Metropolitan Planning Organization updated the Transportation Improvement Program to include a planning project to construct a section of the Rogue River-to-Grants Pass Greenway within Rogue River’s jurisdiction.
VanArsdale said adding the project to the TIP is a step forward for local planning and noted the city hopes the greenway will expand "all the way to Grants Pass." The council did not take formal action on the planning project during the meeting; the announcement came during committee reports while the council considered other agenda items.
The addition places the greenway planning project on the MPO’s schedule for future funding and study. The mayor tied the TIP update to ongoing transportation planning and implementation work the city conducts through regional partners.
