Angel Fire council approves application for FEMA grant to buy emergency generators

The Village of Angel Fire voted to submit an application for the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program to fund 13 emergency generators for the municipal water system. Presenter Miss Goran gave the grant figures during the new-business item: a total project cost in the range of $2,000,004, a federal share of roughly $1,000,008 and a local match requirement of about $605,001; she said she had also applied to New Mexico’s federal-match program to cover the local share.
Council discussed the scope (generators for boosters and key water system components) and how the backup generators would operate if the local utility went down. The motion to approve submittal of the application (Resolution 2026-58) carried on a roll-call vote.
