The Tinmouth Planning Commission voted on Nov. 22 to recommend resident Joey (Joe) Buffum to the select board to fill a recently vacated planning commission seat.
Committee member (speaker 9) moved the recommendation, saying, "I move here. Recommend Joey Buffum." Chair Michael Fowler opened the floor for discussion; members said Buffum's local ties and interest in learning about planning made him a suitable candidate. After discussion, the commission voted in favor and the chair said he would convey the recommendation to the select board.
The motion was made after the commission met in executive session to discuss personnel matters. The chair described the next step as sending the commission's recommendation to the select board for formal appointment. Commissioners noted there were other candidates they would keep in mind for future openings.
