Council names inaugural Public Art Advisory Board members and selects liaison

The council announced appointments to the new Public Art Advisory Board and described staggered terms to align the board with the city’s committee schedule. The appointed members and terms announced were: Esther Neuner (term to 12/31/2028, 2.5 years), Stephanie Seibold (to 12/31/2028, 2.5 years), Paul Bennett (to 12/31/2027, 1.5 years), Christine Funk (to 12/31/2027, 1.5 years) and Andrew Loomis (to 12/31/2027, 1.5 years).
Council also discussed selecting a council liaison to the board. The chair said the liaison role is a non-voting conduit of information between the board and council; councilors indicated interest in serving and agreed to have Cheryl serve as liaison with a councilor alternate. Staff noted the first Public Art Advisory Board meeting was scheduled for August 25 and that one of the first tasks would be to set priorities for the board’s first year. Council emphasized they would have input on initial topics the board addresses.
The council welcomed the appointees and encouraged the new board to begin organizational work and set early priorities in coordination with council guidance. No additional action was required beyond the announced appointments.
