The council approved several routine but material procurements and change orders during the July 27 meeting.
Notable approvals included a change order to add Morphy Avenue sidewalk and street repairs to a 46 kV transmission‑line contract (total not to exceed $123,470.13), procurement of playground equipment and surfacing for River Mill Park (not to exceed $135,195.54, funded by single‑tax contributions), and award of a Quail Creek Golf Course restroom project for about $61,500 plus contingency.
Staff also received authorization to procure a replacement WILO submersible pump for a failing Pub Publix 181 lift station (sole‑source quote not to exceed $31,954) after a lightning‑related failure, and to enter an on‑call engineering contract with Krebs Engineering (two $50,000 line items for water and sewer, total not to exceed $100,000 annually). Several smaller park and rec‑center projects and kennel‑door purchases were approved as well. Council and staff said they would file an insurance claim for the pump failure while proceeding with replacement to maintain service.
