Acton Selectmen approve four committee and deputy‑officer appointments

The Acton Board of Selectmen voted to approve multiple appointments during its Dec. 22, 2021 meeting.
Selectman Kimberly Stacey‑Horn moved to appoint Crystal Andrews to the Recreation Committee effective through June 30, 2022; Selectman Tom McGurty seconded and the motion carried. The board also approved appointing Michael Demers as Deputy Code Officer and Deputy Local Plumbing Inspector (term to 6/30/22); Kenneth Allen to the Cemetery Committee (term to 6/30/22); and Joseph Ruma to the Warrant & Finance Committee (term to 6/30/23). Each motion was seconded and recorded as "All in favor. Motion carried."
As part of post‑election housekeeping, the Town Administrator assigned Selectman Tom McGurty to liaison roles previously held by Selectman Ed Walsh, covering the School Department, Land Use Department and Recreation Committee. When Selectman Tom McGurty asked how frequently liaison assignments rotate, the Town Administrator replied, "Yearly."
