Town Administrator outlines Renaissance Fair plan, state plate changes and Town Meeting schedule

The Town Administrator presented several operational updates to the Select Board on March 19, including event planning and state motor-vehicle registration changes.
She said the Renaissance Fair has expanded to three consecutive weekends and asked the Select Board whether they wanted anything from the fair organizers before the item is added to a future agenda; board members asked for a traffic plan and coordination with the Fire Chief for emergency services. The Town Administrator also reported that the new state plates will be introduced May 1 and outlined the registration process: registrants who do not select the new plate will be charged excise only and would need to visit a branch to retain an old plate; there is a process to reserve current numbers or a vanity plate. She noted additional changes for truck registrations used only for snow plowing and distinctions between special equipment categories.
The Administrator said the Town Report is at the printer and reminded the board of the compressed schedule to finalize the June warrant and absentee ballots; she recommended canceling the April 9 meeting to focus on Town Meeting preparations. The board will confirm meeting scheduling in the coming weeks.
