Neodesha holds ribbon cutting for new Generation Center; two generators started

The Neodesha Board of Commissioners convened a special meeting at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 13, 2025, at the Neodesha Generation Center for a ribbon-cutting ceremony recognizing the newly completed facility. Mayor Devin Johnson presided over the event as Administrator Jones opened the ceremony and presented a plaque recognizing the center.
Administrator Jones thanked everyone who contributed to the project and gave a special acknowledgment to Electric Supervisor Brandon Hearn and staff of the Neodesha Electric Department for their role assisting with the facility. Representatives from KMEA, Caterpillar Generation staff and Foley Equipment attended; attendees were given a guided tour of the center and there was a ceremonial start-up of two generators before the party moved to City Hall for refreshments at 3:20 p.m.
