Neodesha sets Oct. 8 hearing, orders abatement actions for 923 Illinois Street

The City adopted a series of resolutions concerning the property at 923 Illinois Street. Resolution No. 25-12 sets a hearing for October 8, 2025 to allow the owner, agent, lienholders and occupants to show cause why the structure should not be condemned and ordered repaired or demolished. Resolutions 25-13 and 25-14 find the premises in violation of the City of Neodesha environmental code (Articles 3 and 4) and direct the owner to commence required abatement and removal within 30 days of the last publication; if the owner does not act, the city will abate and assess costs as a special assessment.
The resolutions specify publication of the orders in the official city paper (publication dates referenced in the minutes as Aug. 21 and Aug. 28) and provide for mailing copies to owners, agents and lienholders as required by law. Commissioner Truelove moved to approve Resolution 25-12 and later moved to approve Resolutions 25-13 and 25-14; motions were seconded and recorded as carried.
