Dustin Belton, the city's Zoning Administrator, told the commission he is still assembling proposed regulatory changes tied to the 2040 comprehensive plan and expects to provide more detailed information at an upcoming meeting. He said some cities allow limited administrative adjustments (for example, +/-10% for certain dimensional items) and that he will bring options for the commission's review.
Commissioners used the discussion to flag specific ideas for staff to draft, including corridor-specific sign language for the K-254 corridor, spacing rules for highway signs, and possible thresholds for administrative sign approvals. Belton said he will return with more complete draft language in the next substantive meeting cycle so the commission can consider formal amendments.
