District launches dual-language immersion feasibility study; consultant to visit schools

The superintendent described a planned sequence: leadership meetings, targeted stakeholder sessions (about 30 people each), site walks on Feb. 2, a consultant report to the board in April and a potential decision at the May meeting.
Public commenters urged evening meeting times and broader inclusion of ELAC/DLAC parents, former immersion students and BIPOC community representatives to ensure the study reflects diverse community perspectives. The superintendent said he will agendize meetings with ELAC and DLAC and that a larger public meeting would occur once the study moves toward decision-making.
