At its July 28 meeting, the Tangipahoa Parish School Board accepted a Louisiana Public Service Commission energy-efficiency grant of $243,000 to install controls on HVAC units at district sites. Administration said the grant will cover the project cost and not require local funding. The motion to participate in the PSC program was approved by roll call.
The board also approved several routine items and vendor recommendations on the consent calendar, including the 2026–27 uniform group. Some board members expressed reluctance about vendor location and encouraged favoring local suppliers when practical, but the motion to accept administration's recommendation passed. Earlier procedural items—approval of meeting minutes and waiving the 24-hour layover for personnel reports—were also adopted earlier in the meeting.
