Yachats posts election schedule; Councilor Nicole Hedlund announces mayoral run

Catherine Whitten Carey, city council member, outlined the November election timeline during the May 20 meeting: three city council seats, the mayor's office and two council seats will be on the ballot, election packets are available at City Hall, and signatures of support to run are required by August 13. Carey also announced that the city manager will host a candidate forum on June 22 at 3:00 p.m. in the Civic Meeting Room.
Carey relayed that Councilor Nicole Hedlund has announced she will run for mayor in November. "Councilor Nicole Hedlund announced her decision to support the city even more going forward by running as a candidate for our next City of Yachats mayor in November," Carey said. The meeting materials with filing instructions were made available online and at City Hall.
