Fisher emphasized that the requested funds would pay event and amenity costs, not Chamber staff salaries or operations: "All money that we are requesting goes to the events or items that we are listing. None of it goes to the operation of the chamber, to staff, or into our pockets," she said. Board members took public comment and noted the item was presented for discussion with a possible vote at a future meeting; the board asked questions about the percentage of local option tax revenue the request would represent (staff estimated roughly 8.3%).
